Action Village India
London-based Action Village India has long-term relationships with six Gandhian organisations all working for non-violent change in rural India. For almost 20 years, it has supported programmes which enable disadvantaged communities to help themselves. Tamwed liaises with AVI since both organisations work in the same area.
Village Service Trust
VST is a UK charity working to overcome poverty, injustice and poor health in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Founded 30 years ago by returned volunteers, it raises funds from individuals, groups, trusts and public bodies.
The Fairtrade Foundation
The Fairtrade Foundation is the independent non-profit organisation that licenses use of the FAIRTRADE Mark on products in the UK in accordance with internationally agreed Fairtrade standards. The Foundation was established in 1992 by CAFOD, Christian Aid, Oxfam, Traidcraft and the World Development Movement, later joined by the National Federation of Women’s Institutes. Member organisations now also include Banana Link, Methodist Relief and Development Fund, Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign, People & Planet, SCIAF, Shared Interest Foundation, Soroptimist International , Tearfund and the United Reformed Church.
Devon Global Centre
A focal point for individuals, groups and campaigns interested in exploring the links between the lives of people in Devon and those of people and environments throughout the world. The Global Centre is home to Devon Development Education which provides resources, projects and training for teachers on Global Citizenship Education and Education for Sustainable Development.
A Devon-based charity that supports grassroots development work with farming and cattle-raising communities in some of the most marginal areas of Mali. The particular focus is on projects to help women, and environmental work to sustain rural livelihoods.
